THE PUBLICATION
How We Choose Restaurants
A clear source, a useful shortlist, and honest limits.
Our meaning of “top-rated”
For this edition, recognition means stars in the 2026 Michelin Guide California selection. A Michelin star is an expert-guide distinction. It is not a five-point Google rating, a Yelp average, or a score we calculated ourselves.
Selection and order
We selected 10 recognized restaurants to cover different cuisines, locations, and meal formats. The list is ordered by number of Michelin stars. Within the same star category, the order is editorial and does not represent a comparative ranking. This is not every starred restaurant in the region.
What we verify
We check restaurant names, addresses, cuisine labels, price categories, and official website links against the linked restaurant profiles. Star distinctions come from Michelin’s 2026 California selection. The first-edition check date is October 7, 2026.
What we do not claim
We do not claim firsthand meals, publish invented testimonials, or promise that a table is available. Menu prices, hours, booking terms, and accessibility details should be confirmed directly. Price symbols are broad source categories and do not promise a bill total.
Planning suggestions and imagery
Occasion suggestions and preparation checklists are our editorial guidance based on published formats. They are not a scored review. The homepage’s food image was generated with AI for illustration; it does not depict a dish or dining room at any listed restaurant.
Corrections and updates
A check date describes when this edition was researched, not a live feed or an automatic monitoring service. Follow the official source if a detail has changed. This edition will need a new review when distinctions, addresses, or restaurant operations change.
Advertising independence
Advertising, when enabled, will be labeled separately from editorial content. A restaurant cannot buy a Michelin distinction or a higher editorial ranking through this site.
